archaeologically accurate and easy to view. This it is hoped will make an excellent
teaching aid and bring one of the worlds most famous prehistoric monuments back to life

- John Macdonald, Avebury 3D

Silbury hill Avebury is a genuinely monumental pre-historic site. It's immense proportions and interactions with the landscape, both man-made and natural are intriguing clues as to the culture of the builders. It is the aim of this project to recreate these vast structures in a holistic way that allows us to explore them from the same perspectives as those intended by the builders so as to better understand them in context.

Avebury Circle

The features of the Avebury complex are many, such as Silbury hill (left) and the vast stone circle and earthwork enclosure that now houses the idillic town of Avebury itself (right).

Other features include long barrows, palisade structures, coves and a double stone circle with multiple concentric timber circles known as the Sanctuary. All of these diverse structural features are connected by the paths of the vast stone lined avenues at West Kennet and Beckhampton.
